‘Start Infosys Hubli’ a group of like-minded individuals submitted a letter to CM Basavaraj Bommai to seek his intervention in operationalizing the Hubballi campus of Infosys.
The group submitted a request letter to CM Basavaraj Bommai through the DC, Dharwad. In the absence of DC, the group submitted the request letter to Additional DC Shivanand Bhajantri.
Content of the letter: Government of Karnataka had allotted 50 acres of land at Gokul Road to the tech giant Infosys to establish IT/ITES business and recognized it as SEZ.
Phase-1 of the Infosys SEZ is expected to employ around 1500 employees. The campus in its full capacity is expected to employ around 5000 techies in the IT/ITES sector.
However, even after 4.5 years the operations have not been started in the campus. The company had expressed certain concerns related to the travel infrastructure of Hubballi Dharwad.
The people of North Karnataka were taken by surprise by an announcement from Infosys on 20th June to set up new facilities/recruitment from 6 cities outside Karnataka.
Infosys is likely to start operations from Indore, Coimbatore, Vizag, Noida, Nagpur, and Kolkata. The move from Infosys has puzzled the techies on why Infosys decided to keep its Hubballi campus vacant.
The group submitted a request letter and requested CM’s intervention to speak to Infosys top management and do the needful to start operations at Hubballi as soon as possible.
Hubballi Dharwad is ready to host IT/ITES companies with the Airport which is connected to almost all major metros of India like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi (Hindon).
The city is also bestowed with several top-notch premier institutions like IIT, IIIT, KIMS, KLE Technological University, Karnataka University, SDMCET, KLEIT, etc.
Santosh Nargund, Prashant Singh, Uday, and other IT employees/Like-minded people were present during the submission of the request letter to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
