Vande Bharat Express from Bengaluru to Dharwad likely from June 26

The wait is over! South Western Railway (SWR) is set to introduce Vande Bharat Express between Bengaluru and Dharwad via Davanagere and Hubballi most likely from June 26.

8 coach Vande Bharat rake was transferred to SWR yesterday from Integral Coach Factory, Chennai. The rake is now resting at KSR Bengaluru Railway Station.

South Western Railway officials will inspect the rake and a trial run is likely to happen between Bengaluru and Dharwad via Davanagere and Hubballi on June 19.

As per sources, the train leaves KSR Bengaluru at 5:45 AM and reaches Dharwad at 12:40 PM. En route, the train stops at Yeshwantpur (5:55 AM), Davanagere (9:58 AM), and Hubballi (12:10 PM).

In the return direction, it leaves Dharwad at 1:15 PM and reaches KSR Bengaluru at 8:10 PM. En route, the train stops at Hubballi (1:35 PM), Davanagere (3:48 PM), and Yeshwantpur (7:45 PM).

The train will operate on 6 days/week (except Tuesday). Vande Bharat Express will cover 487.47km distance in 6 hours and 55 minutes between Bengaluru and Dharwad.

The average speed of the train in both directions will be 70.54 kmph. But, South Western Railway (SWR) needs to reduce the travel time to get good patronage.

The train will comprise 8 coaches including 7 Chair Car coaches and 1 Executive Chair Car coach. South Western Railway (SWR) is yet to decide on the pricing of the train.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate Bengaluru to Dharwad Vande Bharat Express via Video conference on June 26. However, there is no official confirmation of the same.

Apart from Bengaluru to Dharwad, PM Modi will also inaugurate Mumbai to Goa, Patna to Ranchi, Bhopal to Indore, and Bhopal to Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express via Video conference on the same day.

  1. Time taken will be more than 6 hours, only little less than Intercity and Shatabdi trains. I was expecting the time taken will be 3h30m to 4h.

  2. Speed has to be increased so that it reaches Dharwad in Six hours. It should leave Bangalore by 6.40 am.

  3. It is very helpful if route extended up to Belagavi, commuters travelling to Bangalore from Belagavi is also more.

  4. the train should be extended till Belgavi where is point of keeping the train then, most of the people who travel to KSR are Belagvi people, yeah it is true that people take the train from Dhrawad but those are also Belgavi people only . and on the same hand the train takes roughly 7 hours what !!! and that too because it has no stops rather than three stops means every train can attain it easily and even more quicker also if they are given free track till Dhrawad so i dont think so this is a good take for vande bharat it should change its core things first
