As far as Vaccination is concerned, Dharwad district seems to have taken a step back. Citizens are unable to book slots in the CoWIN Portal for both 45+ and 18-44 age groups. The status in the CoWIN Portal says booked all the time and nobody has a clue when it opens and when it gets booked.
Other districts have opened Vaccine bookings for almost an entire week. But that’s not the case with the Dharwad District. Here the availability is shown for a day or two max, that too the status says booked all the time. For other days, the status says NA (Not Available).
Comparing it with the neighboring Belagavi District, the citizens are allowed to book until 5th June and the slots are available most of the time. People have no clue about what’s happening in the Dharwad district.
We ran a poll on our Twitter handle @Hubballi_Infra to see if people are actually able to book the Vaccine slots. The results are as expected. Around 93% of people said that they are unable to book the Vaccine. The poll received around 166 votes as of 6PM.
Pavan Pujari tagged Karnataka Health Department handle @DHFWKA on Twitter and said “There are absolutely No vaccine stocks available in the entire Dharwad District. When can 18-44 age people get Vaccinated? How long will it take to make the vaccine available? Online portals are of no use. Does anybody care to answer people’s questions?”.
Another Twitter user Satish Omalur said, “Can anyone explain, when will the vaccines be available for Dharwad? Slots are available in Belgaum but not in Dharwad. Humble request to procure vaccines at the earliest”.
Another Twitter User Vinuta said that ” In Dharwad district, there are no slots even for 45+. Have no clue when it opens when they get booked! Whereas Bangalore has the privilege of 18+ also!”
People are finding it strange to see that they are unable to book the Vaccine through the CoWIN Portal. The district administration has to ramp up Vaccination and open slots as soon as possible. Hope they do it at the earliest or inform the citizens on why they are unable to provide sufficient slots.
