To commemorate the 108th Birth Anniversary of Padmashri awardee, Queen of Kirana Gharana genre Dr. Gangubai Hangal, Bansuri program has been organized tomorrow (i.e on 7th March at, 2021) at Srujana Rangamandira, KCD Campus Dharwad.
Renowned flutist Pandit Pravin Godkhindi will be part of the Bansuri program accompanied by Shadaj Godkhindi. Yashwant Vaishnav will give Tabla saath. The program has been arranged as a tribute to Dr. Gangubai Hangal just a day before International Women’s Day.
Who can deny the fact that some of the best Hindustani Musicians have emerged from the Dharwad region? Many musicians not only made an incredible mark for themselves but etched the name of Dharwad on the map of Hindustani music. The Cultural life of Dharwad blossomed with some of the finest musicians in the early part of the 20th century.
To treat the music lovers of the region, Bharatiya Sangeeta Vidyalaya, Dharwad, and the DASA trust have jointly organized the Bansuri program and it is supported by Dr. Gangubai Hangal Parivar.
