Soon, the dull-looking open space of flyovers along the Hubballi Dharwad Bus Rapid Transit System (HDBRTS) corridor will get a fresh makeover under the ‘Bannada Chigari’ campaign.
A pilot project has already been initiated at the Unkal flyover near Channabasaveshwar temple. Beautification of other flyovers along the BRTS corridor will be planned in future.
HDBRTS has installed Decorative lights at the Unkal flyover and Safety grill has been installed separating the area from vehicular movement. HDBRTS has also planted decorative saplings.
Hubballi Dharwad Bus Rapid Transit System (HDBRTS) in association with the Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT), is beautifying the space below the Unkal flyover in Hubballi.
As per DULT, the piers of the flyover will be decorated with Paintings on Environmental Conservation, Sculptures, and Seating arrangements will be provided.
With the development of the Public spaces below the flyover, the HDBRTS Corridor will get aesthetically pleasing looks. Also, it gives a pleasant experience to the travellers.
The ‘Bannada Chigari’ campaign aims to enliven the spaces in and around the existing transit infrastructure of the HDBRTS. The initiative is a unique Public Art Initiative aimed at beautifying public spaces across the BRTS corridor.
Goals of the Bannada Chigari campaign: Strengthening people’s sense of Identity in the Transit BRTS Station, enlivening the Transitory space to create a pleasant experience.
Also, to Relive the unused spaces under the Flyovers along the HDBRTS corridor into Activity pockets. Artworks and Sculptures are going to increase the beauty of the place.
