The registration for the Yuva Nidhi scheme, one of the 5 guarantee schemes of the Government of Karnataka, has started in the Dharwad district from yesterday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner C.D. Geeta said that the concerned principals of Graduate and Diploma colleges should inform the eligible students to apply for the scheme.
Eligibility: Graduate/Diploma holders who passed out in the year 2022-23, and failed to secure a job within 180 days from the date of graduation are eligible to apply.
Graduates registered under the Yuva Nidhi Scheme will get ₹3,000 and those who have passed the Diploma will get ₹1,500 every month. The amount will be transferred to their Aadhar-verified Bank account.
Students who have all the necessary documents should apply before the completion of 180 days after obtaining the provisional Degree and Diploma certificate.
The candidate needs to submit a declaration that he/she is unemployed. Once the candidate gets a job, he/she should immediately inform the concerned to opt out of the scheme.
The details of the registered candidates will be checked with the help of the National Academic Depository (NAD). The uploaded documents will be forwarded to the registrar of the respective university for verification.
Declaration of unemployment should be done in a prescribed form on or before the 25th of every month through Aadhaar-based OTP. False declaration or Failure to declare employment is punishable. The amount paid will be recovered as per law.
