L&T will setup 3 Oxygen Plants in Karnataka, one each in Hubballi, Belagavi, and Gulbarga. Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi had requested L&T to setup oxygen plants in Karnataka and the company has responded positively to his request.
The oxygen plants will be established at Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hubballi, Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences, and Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences.
The plant will have a capacity to produce 1000 Litres of Liquid Oxygen per minute. The produced oxygen will be sufficient to treat 100 infected persons. L&T is likely to setup oxygen plants in June.
Apart from it, L&T will also provide 15 Oxygen concentrators to Hubballi and 6 Ventilators (2 each to Hubballi, Dharwad, and Kalaburagi). Pralhad Joshi has thanked L&T for joining hands with the government to tackle the pandemic.
