Karnataka Lockdown extended till June 7th, 6 AM

Karnataka Lockdown update: The Karnataka Government has extended the state-wide lockdown till June 7th, 6 AM on the account of rising Covid-19 cases. The lockdown in the state was announced on May 10 and is in place till May 24. The government has now decided to extend the lockdown by another two weeks.

Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said that “Decision has been taken after the meeting with officials and Ministers. We had strict restrictions till May 24. As per the opinion of experts, we are extending the strict restrictions till June 7 at 6 AM”.

The CM added that there will be no change in the restrictions, all the restrictions are valid till June 7. He also noted that people were not following the Lockdown norms and that has made the police authorities take action against the violators.

Public transportation, including City & Long route buses and Bangalore Metro services, will continue to remain prohibited. Except for emergencies and for getting a vaccination or for the movement of those employed in essential services, all other vehicular movement will be strictly prohibited.

Shops dealing with Food, Groceries, Fruits and Vegetables, Dairy and Milk booths, Meat and Fish, and Animal fodder shall be allowed to function from 6 AM to 10 AM.
