Karnataka University Dharwad to host its 73rd Convocation today

Karnataka University Dharwad, one of the leading universities in Karnataka is all set to host its 73rd Annual Convocation at Gandhi Bhavan on the University campus at 10:30 AM today.

Honourable Governor of Karnataka Shri Thaawar Chand Gehlot who is also the Chancellor of the Karnataka University Dharwad will preside over the convocation.

Prof Nitin Seth, Director of Indo French Center for Promotion of Advanced Research New Delhi will deliver the convocation address. A total of 254 Gold medals will be given during the convocation.

The rank holder candidates of UG/PG and Diploma courses willing to attend the convocation in person have been asked to wear a White Khadi dress along with Khadi Shawl.

Established in October 1949 and officially inaugurated in March 1950, Karnataka University, Dharwad is accredited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) with an ‘A’ grade.

The jurisdiction of the university covers Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, and Uttara Kannada districts. The campus spans around 888 acres offering various courses in Arts, Commerce, Education, Law, Management, Science and Technology, and Social Sciences, etc.

Karnataka University Dharwad has been awarded with the title ‘University with Potential for Excellence’ (UPE) by the University Grants Commission.
