IndiGo CarGo opens its counter at Cargo terminal of Hubballi Airport

IndiGo CarGo, the cargo division of India’s largest Airline IndiGo has opened its counter at the Outbound Cargo area of the Hubballi Airport’s Cargo terminal earlier today.

A small function was organized to mark the event by cutting the cake. Until today, IndiGo was handling the Cargo shipments through the New terminal of Hubballi Airport.

The function was attended by APD Shri Pramod Thakre, IndiGo officials, and members of the Airport Advisory Committee Mr. Kaustub Saunshikar and Mr. Vishwanath Somapur.

Hubballi Airport is the only airport in North Karnataka with a dedicated Cargo terminal. Recently, the airport has been selected under Krishi Udan giving huge impetus to the Cargo handling potential of Hubballi Airport.

Dedicated Cargo terminal at Hubballi Airport is spread across 1000sq.m and is having one-time hold capacity of 100MT & Annual capacity of 15000 MT.

The facility is capable of handling General, Perishable, and other goods including Valuable and Dangerous goods.

AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services (AAICLAS) has converted the Old terminal of Hubballi Airport into a full-fledged Cargo terminal at a cost of Rs 65 lakhs.

At present, IndiGo has direct flights to Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mangalore, Mumbai, and Mysuru. IndiGo is likely to add a few more sectors like Ahmedabad, Jodhpur, and Delhi soon.
