As a part of Centralization, The Central government had ordered the merger of Hubballi Postal Store Depot (PSD) with Central Store Depot (CSD) located in Bengaluru. The center’s move had come as a shock to the North Karnataka region which already had lost many Government Offices.
Hubballi PSD was supplying postal materials like Postcards, Stamps, Passbooks, Forms, etc to 14 districts of North Karnataka including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Belagavi, Raichur, Uttara Kannada districts.
But thanks to the intervention of our MP Shri Pralhad Joshi, the Postmaster-General, Karnataka Circle has approved the merger of CSD Bengaluru, PSD Hubballi, and PSD Arasikere into a single PSD to be located at PSD Hubballi.
