Minister of IT, BT, Science and Technology and Deputy CM of Karnataka Dr. Ashwathnarayan C N inaugurated the new office of Karnataka Digital Economy Mission at Deshpande Foundation in Hubballi yesterday.
The minister said that the new office has the potential to be a Digital Hub in the Hubballi Dharwad zone. Karnataka Digital Economy Mission aims to increase Digital Economy contribution to 30% of SGDP (State Gross Domestic Product).
The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission aims to harness the potential of the Digital Economy to transform the lives of people. It also aims to attract investments and create around 10 Lakh jobs by 2025.
The mission focuses mainly on 5 verticals i.e IT Products and Services, Innovation and Startups, Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), Beyond Bengaluru, and Talent Accelerator.
“To strengthen Digital Economy, Government will focus on improving Connectivity, Providing 24/7 Electricity, & Reduce Rural-Urban divide by Establishing required Infrastructure in Rural areas” stated DCM Ashwathnarayan CN.
