Hubballi Dharwad to get dedicated app for Weather tracking

Hubballi Dharwad will soon get a dedicated mobile application to track the weather information. The application will be developed for the Smart City Flood Management project.

The weather information will be captured from the Telemetric Rain Gauge stations (TRG), Water level sensors (WLS), and Telemetric Weather Stations (TWS) installed across various cities.

The application will also provide near real-time data of weather and lightning information (Rain and Flood forecast etc) by consuming the data provided by KSNDMC.

Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has called the Tender for the Development of Weather Visualization tool for three cities in Karnataka.

Apart from Hubballi Dharwad, a similar application will be developed for Belagavi as well as Mangaluru. The last date for submission of Bids is till 5 PM on 14th March 2022.

Karnataka State has the distinction of being the first in the country to establish a Drought Monitoring Cell (DMC) in 1988. DMC was established as an institutional mechanism to monitor the Drought in the state.
