Hubballi Delhi direct weekly train from tomorrow

Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw will flag off a new train in between Hubballi and Delhi (Hazrat Nizamuddin) from tomorrow.

Ashwini Vaishnaw is visiting Hubballi tomorrow to participate in few functions and to inaugurate a few railway facilities in Hubballi Dharwad region.

Direct train to Delhi was a long pending demand from the citizens of Hubballi Dharwad. Finally, the wait is over as the railway minister will flag off a new train in between Hubballi and Hazrat Nizamuddin.

Union minister and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi had said that initially the train will be run as a weekly train and later the frequency will be increased as per the demand.

SWR has not specified the schedule and route of the train. The first run is likely to be a free run. The detailed schedule and route of the train will be specified later.

Hubballi lost a direct train connection to Delhi when the slip coaches of Hubballi to New Delhi Goa express were discontinued. From then, Hubballi had lost a direct connection with Delhi.

Ashwini Vaishnaw will flag off the new train at Hubballi at 3 PM. Apart from it, he will also inaugurate the 3rd entrance to the Hubballi Railway Station and remodelled Hubballi yard.

Hubballi junction is one of the very few railway stations in India to have 3 entrances. The second entrance is already functional at Gadag Road.

The 3rd entrance has a seperate ticket booking counters at the entrance. Stairs connect the the entrance to the platform. The platforms are situated on the first floor of the building.

The 3rd entrance is situated along the World’s longest platform of SSS UBL junction. 2 or 3 trains can be simultaneously started or terminated in either directions.

Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw will also inaugurate the renovated Dharwad Railway Station tomorrow (11th October 2022).

South Western Railway (SWR) had undertaken the beautification works at Dharwad Railway Station at a cost of Rs 20 Crores. The renovation works were completed recently.
