The ridership of the Hubballi Dharwad Bus Rapid Transit System (HDBRTS) per day is the Second highest in India compared with other BRT systems in the country.
Hubballi Dharwad has a dedicated BRTS corridor of length 22km. The average ridership per day ranges between 90,000 to 1,00,000. Details of other BRT systems in India are as follows.
Ahmedabad has a BRTS corridor of length 82km, it gets an average ridership of 1,30,000 per day. Ahmedabad has the longest BRT system in the country.
Though Hubballi Dharwad BRTS (HDBRTS) has just 25% of the length of Ahmedabad BRTS, the average ridership per day is nearly 70% of that of Ahmedabad making it the best in the country.
Amritsar has a dedicated BRTS corridor of length 31km with an average ridership of 60,000. Pune Pimpri Chinchawad with a BRTS corridor of length 29km gets an average ridership of 67,000.
Bhopal has a BRTS corridor of length 24km with an average ridership of 77,289. Indore with a BRTS corridor of lenders 12km gets an average ridership of 45,500 per day.
Rajkot, Surat and Jaipur have dedicated BRTS corridors of length 11, 10 and 7 km respectively. They get an average ridership of 7,500; 13,500 and 6,622 per day respectively.

HDBRTS users are requesting authorities to expand the BRTS operations to the High Court complex and IIT Dharwad in Dharwad and to Hubballi Airport in Hubballi for the convenience of passengers.
