Foundation stone laid for the Widening of Hubli Dharwad bypass

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for the much-awaited Widening of Hubli Dharwad bypass project.

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) had organized a function to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 26 projects worth ₹12,795 Crores near Gabbur Toll Plaza in Hubballi.

Widening of the Hubli Dharwad bypass was a long pending demand from the Hubballi Dharwad citizens. The 31.6km stretch of the road will be widened to a 6 lane expressway including 4 lane service road.

Nitin Gadkari also inaugurated Six laning of Chitradurga to Hubballi (NH 48), Four laning of Hubballi to Hosapete section (NH 67) and Part of Semi ring road of Hubballi connecting NH 218 & NH 63 (3.8 Km).

The project will be executed under EPC mode, is likely to be completed within 2.5 years. The estimated cost of construction: ₹1200 Crores. More details on the project can be found here.

Nitin Gadkari was accompanied by Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai, Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi, MLA’s from Dharwad district Jagadish Shettar, Arvind Bellad and other dignitaries.

The minister also flagged off ‘Van Announcement Campaign’ on Central Government Schemes and Projects. The campaign is organized by Field Outreach Bureau, Dharwad.

Nitin Gadkari who is on a Karnataka tour laid the foundation stone 5 national highways worth ₹3,972 crores at District Stadium, Dr. Ambedkar Road, Belagavi earlier today.

After the event in Hubballi, the minister will head towards Mangaluru, where he will be inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of 15 National Highways worth ₹3,163 crores.

  1. Honorable Minister, CM and other Dignitaries, it is a request to please look at this today connecting Dharwad and Hebsur via Byahatti.

    A ring road for Dharwad City is the necessity of the hour to develop this city in to most exiting economic corridor.
