District administration has continued the Footpath Clearance Drive across major market areas. Dharwad DC Nitesh Patil along with Dr. Suresh Itnal, Commissioner of HDMC conducted the clearance drive with HDMC officials and Police forces.
On Wednesday, the administration conducted the clearance drive at Koppikar Road, MooruSavira Matha Road, and areas around Noorani Market. Administration cleared shops encroaching footpath and some street vendors selling their goods on the footpath.
The Footpath Clearance Drive was continued on Thursday as well, the administration conducted the clearance drive around Lamington Road, Tadpatri Galli, and Mahavira Galli. Administration cleared Street vendors and some Fruit and Vegetable sellers on the footpath.
Addressing the press, Dharwad DC Nitesh Patil said that they will not stop but continue the clearance drive. ‘Around 321 buildings lack parking facilities in Hubballi Dharwad, HDMC has already served them notice. An amount of ₹7 Crores will be used to identify parking places and paint them with proper signage’ He added.
District administration is getting widespread appreciation from the citizens of Hubballi Dharwad. Hope DC continues the good work and conducts a similar drive in Dharwad as well. Many commented that the clearance drive conducted by DC reminded them of Captain Manivannan, who had conducted a similar drive when he was the commissioner of HDMC.
