NWKRTC has made some changes in the operations of City buses in Dharwad. Starting from February 14th, City buses will not operate from the current CBT at Dharwad.
The decision has been made to facilitate the construction of an upgraded City Bus terminal at Dharwad. City buses will now operate from the LEA canteen and the backside of Kittel College.
The change is temporary, it will be shifted back to CBT once the construction work is completed. The details of city buses to be operated from LEA canteen and Kittel college are as follows.
From LEA Canteen: Buses towards Agricultural University, Pavate Nagar, Banashri nagar, Chaitanya Nagar, Vinayak Nagar, Sai nagar, Sampige Nagar, Anjaneya Nagar, Radhakrishna Nagar, High court, Shirdi Nagar, and IIIT, Dharwad.
From the backside of Kittel College: Buses towards Railway Station, Jog Yellapur, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Sangolli Rayanna Nagar, Tejaswini Nagar, Saraswatipura, Kalyan Nagar, Udayagiri, Tadasinakoppa, Vanashrinagar, Navalur and Gamanagatti.
The redevelopment of the City Bus Terminal (CBT) in Dharwad was a long pending demand by the citizens of Dharwad. The infrastructure at Dharwad was in dilapidated condition lacking even the basic facilities.
The Karnataka government had sanctioned ₹13 Crores for the reconstruction of the Dharwad City Bus Terminal (CBT) on the 19th of October 2023.
Karnataka state Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy had performed Bhoomi pooja for the Upgradation of the City Bus Terminal at Dharwad on January 9th, 2024.

Upgradation of New CBT work at Dharwad includes the Main building, Concreting the bus bays, 4 numbers of Platforms/Bus bays, Rest area for women, and Separate toilets for Men and Women.
It will also include a Clean drinking water unit (RO plant), Seating arrangement for passengers, Installation of Granite flooring in the main building, Canteen and commercial outlets.
