Villagers in Tegur on the outskirts of Dharwad City are in panic after some reportedly spotted three leopards roaming around Hosategur and Haletegur areas.
Villagers had raised an alarm on Sunday afternoon after some of them allegedly spotted Leopards near one of the farmhouses in the Tegur village.
The forest officials however have not yet confirmed the presence of Leopards near the area. The forest officials are yet to find the pug marks of the Leopard.
Villagers have asked forest officials to continue the search operations. “Once we find any of the pug marks, a cage will be set up to trap the leopard”, said one of the officials.
