All above 45 years of age to get Covid-19 Vaccine from today

Starting from today, all those who are above 45 years of age will get the Covid-19 Vaccine. Until today, only those who are above 60 years of age and those who are 45+ with comorbidities were eligible for vaccination.

The vaccination drive in India began on January 16th, 2021. In the first phase, Healthcare workers and Frontline workers were vaccinated. In the second phase, those who are above 60 years of age and those who are 45+ with comorbidities were considered for vaccination.

In the 3rd phase of Vaccination starting from today, all those who are 45+ years of age will be eligible for vaccination regardless of comorbidities and other health conditions. The beneficiaries can register either in CoWin Portal or the Aarogya Setu app or can visit any nearby Vaccination centers for On-spot Registration.

India is witnessing a steep rise in Covid-19 cases from last week. Karnataka reported 4,225 fresh cases yesterday i.e on 31st March 2021. Dharwad district reported 62 fresh Covid-19 cases taking the total number of active cases to 329.
