As of now, excavation work has been completed from the Railway gate till the entrance arch of the University. The level crossing has already been closed for vehicular movement.
Construction of concrete bed and side wall for the underpass road connecting Rani Chennamma Stadium towards the main arch of the University is in full swing.

The central government has sanctioned the construction of Road Under Bridge (RUB) and Circular Interchange at Srinagar Circle near Karnataka University, Dharwad.
The Road Under Bridge at Level Crossing 299 at Srinagar Circle is being built at a cost of ₹41.59 Crores. The state government had agreed to release half of the funds in November 2022.
