Four cities in Karnataka will get an Institute of Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture (AIAC) soon. The institutes will be established in Dharwad, Mysuru, Davanagere, and Raichur.
Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) has called the tenders for establishing Institutes of Artificial Intelligence. The project is expected to be completed in 12 months (including monsoon).
The institutes will be established in different packages. Davanagere, Mysuru, Dharwad, and Raichur will get the institute in Package 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively.
Apart from it, the Center of Excellence for the promotion of Integrated Farming System (IFS) will also be established in various cities under different packages.
The list of Towns/Cities getting the Center of Excellence for the promotion of Integrated Farming System (IFS) is as follows:
Package 1: Cheluvatimanahalli (Chikkaballapura district), Chitradurga (Chitradurga district), Davaragere (Davangere district), Honnali (Davangere district), Kolar (Kolar district), Mulabagilu (Kolar district).
Package 2: Kankanadi (Dakshina Kannada district), Karnageri (Kodagu district)), Nagamangala (Mandya district), Pandavapura (Mandya district), Sakleshpura (Hassan district).
Package 3: Bagalkote (Bagalkote district), Gadag (Gadag district), Chikkodi (Belagavi district), Indi (Vijapura district), Kittur (Belagavi district), Sirsi (Uttara Kannada district), Rattihalli (Haveri district), Shiggavi (Haveri district).
Package 4: Vijayanagar (Vijayanagar district), Devadurga (Raichur district), and Sedam (Kalaburagi district).
Dharwad district is popularly called ‘Vidya Kashi’ or ‘Shikshana Kashi’ as it is the Education hub of North Karnataka. The new institute of Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture will be Another Feather in the cap of Dharwad district.
