Vaccination of 18-44 age group to resume from June 21

Here is some good news: Vaccination of 18-44 age group which was briefly halted to facilitate Vaccination for the 45+ age group, will resume from June 21st. The District administration is making all necessary arrangements to carry out the vaccination drive.

District Incharge Minister Jagadish Shettar along with Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi chaired a meeting with DC Nitesh Patil and District Health department officials regarding the preparedness of the administration for Vaccination of 18-44 age group.

According to the CoWIN Portal, 3,23,471 people have received at least one dose of the Vaccine in the Dharwad district. Amongst them, 73,999 beneficiaries have completed the second dose. The total doses administered in the district are 3,97,470. Karnataka has so far administered 1,69,12,183 vaccine doses.

On June 8th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that all the Vaccines will be procured by the center and will be given free to the states. He had also announced a Centralized Vaccination drive that facilitates free Vaccines for all above 18 years of age.
