SWR to flatten Curve between Kundagol and Hubballi

South Western Railway (SWR) has undertaken Flattening of Curve number 24 in between Kundagol and Hubballi South (part of the Bengaluru to Hubballi Railway line).

Flattening of curves helps to increase the Speed limit on those sections. On the flattened line, trains can be run at a speed of 120km/hr instead of 75-80km/hr.

Recently, SWR flattened one of the curves in between Kundagol and Saunshi. SWR had flattened the curve from 3.1° to 1.6° to increase the sectional speed.

Indian Railways is creating all the necessary infrastructure on a war footing to run Vande Bharat Express in between Bengaluru and Dharwad via Hubballi at the earliest.

Due to the line block created to complete the works, South Western Railway (SWR) has made some changes in the operation of below-mentioned trains.

Train Number 12079 Bengaluru to Hubballi Jan Shatabdi Express will be partially cancelled tomorrow (27th January) between Harihar and Hubballi, by short terminating it at Harihar.

Train Number 12080 Hubballi to Bengaluru Jan Shatabdi Express will be partially cancelled tomorrow (27th January) between Harihar and Hubballi. The train originates at Harihar instead of Hubballi at its scheduled time.

Train Number 16213 Arsikere Hubballi express will be fully cancelled on 27th January 2023 (tomorrow).

Doubling and Electrification work in between Bengaluru and Hubballi are going on at a brisk pace and it is expected to be completed by March/April 2023, so that Vande Bharat Express can be introduced in the section.
