South Western Railway (SWR) earned total revenue of ₹7771 crores from all sources as of March 22, 2023, breaking the previous record of ₹6133 crores for the last fiscal year 2021-22.
For the first time, South Western Railway has achieved a milestone of originating passenger revenue of ₹2686 crore up to March 22, 2023.
The originating passenger revenue is ₹562 crores (11.10%) higher than the previous best of ₹2124 crore (registered in 2019-20).

In 2021-22, SWR earned ₹4189 crores in freight revenue and it has recorded ₹4514 crores in this financial year up to March 22, 2023.
The freight revenue is 7.75 % higher than the previous financial year. Also, sundry revenue of ₹306 crores was registered against ₹168 crores during 2021-22.

The South Western Railway (SWR) is one of the 19 railway zones in India, headquartered at Hubballi. SWR was created from carving out the routes from Southern Railways, South Central Railways and Central Railways in 2003.
