Hubballi Dharwad Smart City Limited (HDSCL) has taken up the renovation of the Old Bus Stand Hubballi. The project is undertaken at a cost of ₹36 Crores. The project is likely to be completed in 18 to 24 months.

As per the plan, the new terminal will be of 3 levels i.e Basement, Ground Floor and Upper Ground Floor. HDBRTS and City Bus services will be operated from Ground Floor whereas Suburban services will operate from the Upper Ground Floor.

Parking facilities will be provided in the basement for around 250 Bikes and 100 Cars. A 25kE Solar Power Plant will be installed in order to make the bus terminal self-sufficient as far as power consumption is concerned.

As of now, Suburban Bus services have been shifted to HDBRTS Interchange at Hosur. NWKRTC and HDSCL have put up a notice at the site to inform the passengers about the change in Bus operations.
