IndiGo to upgrade Hubballi Mumbai flight to Airbus from tomorrow

There is some good news for the people of Hubballi Dharwad. IndiGo has decided to upgrade the Hubballi to Mumbai flight to Airbus A320 from the Winter Schedule 2023 effective from tomorrow.

IndiGo was operating Hubli to Mumbai flight on a 78-seater ATR 72-600. Increased passenger load and Cargo demand have pushed the airline to upgrade the flight.

The upgrade is already reflecting in IndiGo’s booking portal https://www.goindigo.in/. Hubli to Mumbai’s upgradation to Airbus A320 is effective from October 29th, 2023.

Speaking to Hubballi Infra, Sachin Shetty (Station manager IndiGo at Hubballi Airport) confirmed the upgradation of the Hubballi to Mumbai flight to Airbus A320 from tomorrow.

“The airline is likely to restart the most sought Hubballi to Ahmedabad flight as well. Restarting Hubli to Ahmedabad flight is in the pipeline, and is likely to be approved soon” he added.

Effective from October 29th, Mumbai to Hubballi flight (6E 936) departs Mumbai Airport Terminal 2 (CSIA) at 12:00 PM and reaches Hubballi Airport at 1:15 PM.

In the return direction, Hubballi to Mumbai flight (6E 937) departs Hubballi Airport at 1:45 PM and reaches Mumbai Airport Terminal 2 (CSIA) at 2:40 PM.

It is a welcome move as Hubballi to Mumbai flight is in high demand, most of the time the flight goes full and the fares are always on the higher side on ATR 72-600.

The upgradation to Airbus A320 also reduces the travel time between the two cities to 1 hour and 10 minutes. Currently, IndiGo ATR 72-600 covers the distance in 1 hour and 35 minutes.

IndiGo’s Airbus A320 has a seating capacity of 186 compared to 78 on ATR 72-600. The increased capacity also helps to reduce the flight fares between the two commercial cities.

Hubballi Airport has a dedicated Cargo terminal, the upgrade also helps the airline to send more Cargo across India and also to international destinations.

As of now, IndiGo operates direct flights from Hubballi Airport to Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune. Except for Delhi, all other sectors are operated by ATR 72-600 aircraft.

Winter Schedule of the flight operations in India will be effective from October 29th, 2023. DGCA is likely to release the Winter schedule 2023 by next week.
