Union Minister and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi shared the good news on his social media accounts. It is because of his perseverance that Hubballi is getting a direct flight to Delhi.
IndiGo will deploy a 186 seater Airbus A320 aircraft on Hubballi Delhi sector. The flight will be operated on a daily basis.
Hubballi to Delhi flight leaves Delhi Airport at 10:00 AM and reaches Hubballi at 12:45 PM. In the return direction, flight 6E-5625 leaves Hubballi at 1:15 PM and reaches Delhi Airport at 3:45 PM.
Recently, Hubballi Airport has regained third place in Karnataka as far as number of passengers is concerned. New flight to Delhi would further strengthen Hubballi’s chance to retain 3rd place.
Direct flight to Delhi was a long pending demand from the business community of Hubballi Dharwad as many businessesman has trade connections with Delhi.
Direct flight to Delhi would also mean that citizens of Hubballi Dharwad can easily get a wide range of International connections from Delhi Airport.
Getting a prime time slot at Indira Gandhi International Airport was not an easy task, but all thanks to the efforts and follow-up of Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi.
There were some slot issues at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI, Delhi) to start Hubballi Delhi direct flight and these will be sorted out soon, he had said a few days back.
At present, IndiGo has direct flights to Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mangalore, Mumbai, and Mysuru. And Star Air connects Hubballi Airport with Bengaluru and Hindon (Delhi).
Hubballi Airport is the only airport in North Karnataka to host a dedicated Cargo terminal. The facility is spread across 1000sq.m area and is having one time hold capacity of 100MT & Annual capacity of 15000 MT.
