Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi had requested the Civil Aviation minister JM Scindia to start the Hyderabad flight from Hubli Airport. The matter was then brought to the notice of IndiGo management.
Responding to his request, IndiGo had decided to operate a direct flight to Hyderabad from Hubballi Airport with effective from April 27th.
Earlier, Alliance Air used to connect Hubballi Airport with Hyderabad. However, they dropped the flight services owing to the rising cases in the district.
Since then, Hubballi Airport was deprived of flight services to Hyderabad. Alliance Air had restarted the flight but again stopped it when the second wave struck the nation.
Passengers from Hubli are requesting the resumption of Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Goa sectors and adding a few other potential sectors like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Mangalore, and Delhi.
While pushing for Jodhpur, Jaipur, etc., need to get those long haul connections that draw better crowds and will be longer lasting: Delhi, Varanasi, Kolkata, Vizag. A natural step towards making Hubballi Airport truly international.
