IndiGo celebrates its 5th anniversary at Hubballi Airport

India’s largest airline, IndiGo successfully completed 5 years of operations at Hubballi Airport. The airline celebrated its 5th anniversary at Hubballi Airport yesterday (28th June).

To mark the event, a small function was organized at the Hubballi Airport. The function was attended by all the team members of the airline working at Hubballi Airport.

IndiGo commenced commercial operations from Hubballi Airport on 28th June 2018. The airline started operations from Kochi and Goa sectors using ATR 72-600 aircraft.

Just a couple of days later, IndiGo started Airbus A320 operations from Hubballi Airport. IndiGo connected Hubballi Airport with Bengaluru, Chennai, and Ahmedabad.

Since then, the airline is consistently operating flights from Hubballi Airport. Though a few sectors were removed or added over time, the airline continued to give preference to the airport.

IndiGo started Hubballi to Delhi flight on 14th November 2022. The sector was an instant hit from day one. To date, the flight is getting a consistent 85-90% load on average.

As of now, IndiGo operates direct flights from Hubballi Airport to Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune. Except for Delhi, all other sectors are operated by ATR 72-600 aircraft.

Recently, IndiGo has taken over the Cargo terminal operations from the Airport Authority of India (AAI) on a self-handling agreement. The airline now operates the Cargo terminal by itself.

Passengers from Hubballi are requesting the resumption of Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Goa flights and starting new flights to Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Kolkata, etc.
