IIT Dharwad inks MoU with JCB India

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in between the Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad and JCB India in the presence of Shri Vinayak Chatterjee, Chairman of BoG, IIT Dharwad, Prof P. Seshu, Director, IIT Dharwad, Shri Deepak Shetty, CEO and MD, JCB India.

The collaboration will create many opportunities in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Electric Drive Systems, Sensors and Characterization, and Clean Energy.

Shri Vinayak Chatterjee saw a confluence of interest between the Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IIT-Dh) and JCB India and also a scope for setting up a Skill Centre at Dharwad.

Prof. Seshu spoke on how the Industry-Academia collaboration has been imbibed in the DNA of IIT Dharwad and that cross-fertilization across different areas is the need of the hour in the current times.

He also highlighted that the institute has young and energetic faculty members who are very excited to take the collaboration forward.

Shri Deepak Shetty: CEO and MD, JCB India mentioned that for the success of a country, Academia, Industry, and Governments should come together and work closely.

“Industries should take advantage of the huge pool of Intelligence in Academia. The focus needs to be on finding practical solutions to real-life challenges”, he added.
