The citizens of Hubballi have been waiting for a multi-level parking complex at Court Circle opposite Saibaba temple, but it remains to be a distant dream.
The construction of the Multi-level Parking Complex which started in March 2020 is progressing at a snail’s pace. In fact, there has been no visible progress in the last 8-10 months.
As of now, only 26% of the project has been completed after four years, with M/s Suresh Enterprises Private Limited, Hubballi as the executing agency for HDSCL.
Hubballi Dharwad Smart City Limited (HDSCL) is executing the project under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode at a cost of ₹50 Crores (includes ₹10 Crores share by HDSCL).
Most of the projects undertaken by HDSCL under Smart City funds have been completed or nearing completion. But the Multi-level Parking Complex seems to be an exception.
Features of the Project: The project will feature Smart card-based entry for Vehicles, Public Bicycle Sharing, and Digital billboards for Advertisements to increase revenue.
The overall built-up area of the project is around 1,22,500 Sq ft. In that 35,000 Sq.ft of space will be used for commercial purposes. It is being executed on DBFOT basis.
