Hubballi to Bengaluru rail line is now fully Doubled and Electrified

Some good news for Rail travellers, South Western Railway (SWR) has completed the Doubling and Electrification of the Railway line between Hubballi and Bengaluru.

Jaipal Singh, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, SWR conducted Statutory inspection of Railway Electrification works between Devaragudda and Hubballi yesterday.

Speed trial with E-loco was conducted between Devaragudda and Hubballi. KJM WAG9HC ran at full sectional speed of 100 Kmph in between Devaragudda Hubballi section.

The stretch between Devaragudda and Bengaluru was already Doubled and Electrified. So, it makes the Hubballi Bengaluru railway line a Fully Doubled and Electrified (FEDL) route.

Doubling and Electrification of the Railway line between Bengaluru and Hubballi was crucial to run the Vande Bharat Express. So all the hurdles have been cleared to start the train.

Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18 is a Semi-high-speed, Intercity, Electric Multiple Unit train operated by the Indian Railways. The train has been tested to operate at 160kmph.

  8. It is very good for Hubbali. SWR has done past approach. The same way Hosur Bangalore doubling should be completed so that mobisle train can operate like other cities.
This will be help ful to IT corridor on day today basis.

  9. Congratulations SWR All staff.
Great work done by you all.
    Thank you all.
    Hanumesh Padasalgi.

  10. Good. We are happy.
Please start fast trains and hope trains reach destination on time (without delay)

  11. GOOD JOB SWR. BUT PLEASE START ELECTRIC ENGINES, REPLACING DIESE ENGINES AT THE EARLIEST FOR ALL TRAINS RUNNING FROM BANGALORE TO HUBBALI WHICH SAVES TIME AND ENERGY. SOLAR PANELLING ON THE ROOF TOP OF STATIONS CAN BE THOUGHT OF TO STORE ELECTRIC ENERGY AND UTILISE THE SAME TO RUN ELECTRIC ENGINES.

    1. Yes, Man. Those smoke monsters should be from the Indian rail. They produce pollution and eat up foreign reserves’ cost of oil.

  12. Its a Good News. But change all train engines from Bangalore to Hubli to electric Engines [Locomotives] instead of Diesel engines. And try to reduce the travel time for all the trains.

  13. But why is that we still don’t have electric locos hauling the trains on the SBC – UBL line .. except for Janshatabdi, VB and couple of long distance weeklies.. ? Is UBL shed running short of WAG-9HC locos.. ? Are they using the 35 WAG-9HC locos.. ? Pls share an update on this if you have.. Thanks.
