Hubballi Division utilizes the idle NMG Rake for carrying parcels

Hubballi Division utilized the idle NMG Rake (New Modified Goods Rake), which are normally utilized for loading Vehicles, to transport Parcels from Vasco Da Gama in Goa to Khori in Haryana. For the first time in Indian Railways, the Division started utilizing idle General Second Class coaches to transport parcels.

The 3rd rake consisting of 25 wagons were loaded with a total of 210 Tonnes of commodities including Tyres, Food Products, etc. This has generated a revenue of Rs. 12 Lakhs.

This is the second NMG rake loaded from Vasco Da Gama to Khori. Earlier o­n 16.04.2021, NMG rake carried Food products from Vasco Da Gama to Khori generating a revenue of Rs. 11.7 Lakhs. Hubballi Division has earned parcel revenue of Rs. 1.06 Crores so far in the month of April 2021.

Shri Arvind Malkhede, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Hubballi Division said that the marketing efforts and initiatives of the Business Development Unit (BDU) have helped in capturing new avenues of Parcel Traffic.

Hubballi Division has earned a Parcel Revenue of more than Rs. 1 Crore for the seventh consecutive month. Railways will make all endeavor to meet the expectation and needs of the Business Community for Faster and Efficient transportation of their Cargo’. he added.
