Government school in Dharwad gets Space and Astronomy Lab

Space E Schoylar, in association with Himalayan Space Centre and DDPI Dharwad has set up “Space and Astronomy Lab” at Karnataka Public School, Karadigudda, Dharwad on 2nd Sep 2023.

It is Karnataka’s first Space and Astronomy Lab in Government Schools. The 2nd and 3rd Space Labs will be inaugurated at Government High School, Kiresur, Hubli and Government High School, RN Shetty Stadium Campus, Dharwad in the coming weeks.

The Space Labs is equipped with all the required Astronomy Models, Rockets & its Launchers, Telescopes and Wall fixtures to get the real time glance of all the celestial bodies including the deep space objects.

Space E Schoylar, an NGO promoting Space Education has associated with Himalayan Space Centre, an ISRO Certified Space Tutor. Together they are on a mission to create young Scientists, Astronomers and Astronauts at a budding stage to build their careers.

The whole world is celebrating and appreciating the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 by ISRO. Creating interest about Space and Astronomy is the main motto of the project.

Space E Schoylar has a very dedicated and enthusiastic team in Hubballi Dharwad working relentlessly towards imparting knowledge and educating students about Space and Astronomy.

They have taken up projects in collaboration with the Department of Public Instructions, Dharwad to set up Space Labs in the Government Schools.

The lab was inaugurated by Smt. Shivleela Kulkarni from Vishudeep foundation, Shri. Veeranna Bolishetti, Director, Regional Science Center, Dharwad Shri. S. S. Keladimath, KES, DDPI(Admin), Smt. Shreedevi Roogi, Shri. S.M. Hudedamani, Smt. Ottilie Anban Kumar, Shri. Nandeesh Kakandki, Shri. Pandurang Ankali and other dignitaries.

Chief guest Shivaleela Kulkarni said that “These labs will not only help students, parents but also the entire community to educate themselves about Space & Astronomy”.

Shri. S. S. Keladimath, KES, DDPI(Admin) said that “Students should be goal oriented and strive hard towards pursuing a career in Space & Astronomy in addition to other careers”.

Veerendra Bolishetty, Director of Dharwad Regional Science Centre said that “This is a very good initiative by Space E Scholyar, Students in rural areas have a lot of potential and with support from everyone they can reach great heights”.

Shri. S. M. Hudedamani, KES, DYPC RAMSA Dharwad, has been a great support for the project with continuous efforts from Team DDCLICS Founding Partner Smt. Ottilie Anban Kumar – Founder and CEO of Evolve Lives Foundation.

Shri. Gerard Manik, PMO INDIA CLICS. Smt. Usha Kulkarni, Academic Advisor, Smt. Shreedevi Roogi, Founder President, Space E Schoylar and Shri. Veeresh Patil, Co Founder and VP, Himalayan Space Centre have been the backbone of the whole project.
