Dharwad district to get benefits of Karnataka Unlock 2.0

Karnataka Unlock 2.0 update: The Karnataka Government has decided to include Dharwad district in the list of districts that will get some extra relaxation from June 21st, 6 AM. Dharwad District was excluded from the relaxations as the Positivity rate of the district was higher than 5%.

The move had upset many businessmen of Hubballi Dharwad as they are expecting some relaxation in the Dharwad district under Karnataka Unlock 2.0. DC Dharwad had released the weekly Positivity rates of the district. The average Positivity rate of the Dharwad district for the past week was 4.1%.

Earlier today, the members of the Chamber of Commerce Hubballi met district Incharge Minister Jagadish Shettar and requested him to ease lockdown restrictions in the district. The minister had assured about the opening of lockdown after the discussion with DC.

Jagadish Shettar had a meeting with DC Nitesh Patil, and other senior officials of the district to decide about the relaxations. Based on the discussion, the minister had requested CM BS Yediyurappa and Health Minister K.Sudhakar to unlock the Dharwad district.

Based on the recommendations, the Karnataka Government has agreed to include the Dharwad district in the list of districts that will get some more relaxations. Shri N.Manjunath Prasad Principal Secretary to the Government released an addendum to the guidelines.

The press release stated that “After considering the declining trend in the Case Positivity Rate of Dharwad district and also taking into account that the district has consistently recorded less than 5% case positivity rate since 14th June, hereby it is decided to include Dharwad district under Category I districts. Consequently, all additional activities permitted for Category I districts from 6 AM of 21st June until 5 AM of 5th July will be applicable for the Dharwad district.

Karnataka Unlock 2.0: New Guidelines for Dharwad district

All production units/industrial establishments/industries are permitted to function with 50% of their staff strength strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behavior. However, production units/industrial establishments/industries engaged in Garment manufacturing are permitted to function with 30% of their staff strength strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behavior.

All Shops without any distinction between Essential and Non-essential goods/services are allowed to function outside the containment zone from 6 AM to 5 PM strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behavior. However, Air-conditioned shops, Air-conditioned shopping complexes, Malls, are not permitted to function. Home delivery of all items shall be encouraged 24×7 to minimize the movement of individuals outside their homes.

All hotels, Restaurants, Eateries, Bars, and Clubs are allowed to function from 6 AM to 5 PM for Dine-in with 50% capacity strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behavior and no liquor will be permitted to be served. Home delivery is permitted 24/7. However, Hotels, Restaurants, Caterers, Bars, and clubs with air-conditioning are not permitted to operate.

Further, Hospitality services (Lodging, Resorts, etc) are allowed to function with 50% of their occupancy strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behavior and SOPs issued by the concerned department.

Only outdoor Film and Television serial-related shooting is permitted strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behavior. All Construction activities civil repair works including shops and establishments dealing with construction material are permitted outside containment zones.

Parks will be open from 5 AM to 6 PM for Walking and jogging purpose strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behavior, but no group activities will be permitted. Non-air-conditioned Gymnasiums are permitted to function with 50% of their capacity strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behavior.
