Cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan to invest in FMCG cluster Dharwad

Srilankan legendary cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan has decided to invest ₹900 Crores for a Beverage plant at FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) cluster, Dharwad.

The investment in the name of Ceylon Beverage Can Private Limited’ will be executed in 3 phases. The unit will manufacture Aluminium Cans and will have Beverage filling facilities.

Speaking with Hubballi Dharwad Infra, the Joint Director of Dharwad Industries Center Mr Shivaputrappa said that ‘The government has already approved the investment at the FMCG cluster, Dharwad‘.

‘In the first phase, Muralitharan will invest ₹256.3 Crores on 15 acres of land at FMCG cluster at Mummigatti, Dharwad generating employment opportunities to 200 people’ he added.

Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) has already cleared the investment proposal by Muttiah Muralitharan on 24th January 2023, and the order has been passed on 22nd February 2023.

The investment requires a 3MW power supply from HESCOM and about 1 Lakh liters of water per day. The Karnataka government has promised to fulfil both demands.

Muttiah Muralitharan was in Hubballi on Saturday (August 5). He visited the site at FMCG cluster Dharwad with KIADB officials and expressed happiness about the land allotted to him.

Ceylon Beverage Can Private Limited was established in 2014 as the first 2-piece Aluminum Can & Beverage manufacturer in Horana, Sri Lanka. Their products are used in several Beverage industries across the world.
