Cardiac healthcare in the North Karnataka region is going to get a huge impetus as the Construction of Jayadeva Hospital of Cardiovascular Sciences has started in Hubballi.
The government has identified 9.36 acres of land near the Leprosy Hospital at Anand Nagar in Hubballi. The 350-bed facility will be built at a cost of ₹250 Crores.
The Hubballi Hospital for the Handicapped (Leprosy Hospital) and the Rehabilitation center have now been completely demolished. Land preparation work has started for the Construction of Jayadeva Hospital.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had announced Jayadeva Hospital of Cardiovascular Sciences to Hubballi during the Karnataka Budget session for the year 2022-23.
Jayadeva Hospital already has 1150 bed facility in Bengaluru. The hospital also has its presence in Kalaburgi and Mysuru with a bed capacity of 350 and 400 respectively.
Until now, the Northwest part of Karnataka was deprived of good cardiovascular healthcare facilities. The Hubballi unit of Jayadeva Hospital is likely to fill the gap.
The hospital is likely to cater to many districts of North Karnataka including Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Belagavi, Uttara Kannada, Vijayapura, and Bagalkot.
Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Hospital is a government-run institute exclusively for Cardiac care providing treatment at an affordable cost.
