Bhoomi pooja for Hubballi Airport’s New Terminal on March 10

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the Bhoomi Pooja for the Construction of Hubballi Airport’s New Terminal virtually on March 10 (Sunday).

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone virtually from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh. The program has been fixed at 12 PM on Sunday. Preparations are underway at the Hubballi Airport.

Airport Authority of India (AAI) has planned to remodel Hubballi Airport into a World-class terminal in the next 2-3 years. The new terminal will have elements that represent the local culture.

Hubballi Airport will be remodelled into an International standard terminal capable of handling 2400 peak-hour passengers (1200 Arrivals + 1200 Departures) with a total built-up area of 20,000 sq.m.

The apron at the Hubballi Airport will also be expanded to accommodate 6 Code C type aircraft (Boeing 737/Airbus A320) and has provision to park 3 Code C type aircraft.

Among these, 4 parking bays in the Apron area will be directly connected with the Departure gates in the new terminal via Aerobridges helping passengers to board/deboard easily.

The new terminal will have a provision to park 500 numbers of private cars (including 8 numbers for Persons with Reduced mobility), 10 Bus bays, 100 numbers of Taxi, and 100 numbers for staff.

At present, the terminal of Hubli Airport spread across 3,600 Square Meters can handle 300 peak-hour passengers (150 Arrivals + 150 Departures).
