Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Healthcare system is under severe stress for want of Additional health infrastructure and Technicians under various job roles. To address the issue, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of lndia is formulating 7 customized Crash Courses in Covid-19 related job roles.
The Crash Courses to be introduced are as follows:
- Emergency Medical Technician (Basic).
- General Duty Assistant (GDA).
- General Duty Assistant- Advanced (Critical care).
- Home Health Aide.
- Medical Equipment Technology Assistant.
- Phlebotomist.
- Medical Record Assistant.
The training under these job roles will be under the Central component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana(PMKVY). The training would be one-month duration followed by On job training (OJT).
The On Job Training (OJT) can be taken up in Primary Healthcare Centers or Government hospitals in District headquarters or other hospitals in which they will be working.
Secretary to the Government, Dr. S.Selvakumar has requested the administration to identify the number of skilled personnel required to be trained in the above-mentioned job roles with the help of District Skill Development Offices (DSDO).
‘The DSDOs have been informed about getting the requirements in consultation with District Health Officers (DHO). The candidates should be selected in the ratio of 1:2 in the above-mentioned job roles for initiating the training program’ he added.
