In a positive news, South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to attach E-loco to the two trains to Hubballi Dharwad from yesterday. Details are as follows.
Train number 12725/12726 Siddaganga Intercity Superfast Express (Bengaluru to Dharwad) will be hauled by E-loco starting from 1st December 2023 and 2nd December 2023 respectively.
Also, Train number 20653/20654 Bengaluru Belagavi Superfast Express via Hubballi Dharwad has got E-loco from 29th November and 30th November respectively.
KJM WAP-7 39212 was deployed for the inaugural E-loco run of Train 12725/12726. The same locomotive was deployed for the inaugural E-loco run of Train 20653/20654.
South Western Railway (SWR) had completed the Electrification of the Bengaluru to Hubballi railway line on April 1st, 2023. Few trains on the line are running with Electric traction including the prestigious Vande Bharat Express.
Gradually, SWR will roll out E-loco on all the trains between Bengaluru and Hubballi Dharwad. Indian Railways is working in a mission mode towards becoming a ‘Net Zero Carbon Emitter’ before 2030.
Train number 12725 Siddaganga Intercity Superfast Express leaves Bengaluru at 12:45 AM and reaches Dharwad at 9:25 PM. The train operates on all days with the same schedule.
En route, the train stops at Yeshwantpur jn, Tumakuru, Tiptur, Arsikere jn, Kadur jn, Birur jn, Ajjampura, Hosadurga Road, Chikkajajur jn, Davanagere, Harihar, Ranibennur, Byadgi, Haveri, Yalvigi, Hubballi and terminates at Dharwad Railway Station.
In the return direction, Train number 12726 Siddaganga Intercity Superfast Express leaves Dharwad at 5:15 AM and reaches Bengaluru at 2:05 PM.
By providing elec. loco the speed should get incresed and journey time should get reduced
