In a positive news, South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to attach Electric loco to three more trains to Hubballi Dharwad in the next two weeks. Details are as follows.
Train number 17391/17392 Bengaluru Hubballi Bengaluru Express will be hauled by Electric loco starting from 12th February 2024 and 13th February 2024 respectively.
Train number 20655/20655 Yeshwantpura Hubballi Yeshwantpura Superfast Express will be hauled by Electric loco starting from 23rd February 2024 and 24th February 2024 respectively.
Train number 17325/17326 Belagavi Mysuru Belagavi Vishwamanava Express via Hubballi Dharwad will be hauled by Electric loco starting from 11th February 2024 and 10th February 2024 respectively.
Apart from that, two more trains operated by South Western Railway (SWR) from Bengaluru will also get E-loco in the next 2-3 weeks. Details are as follows.
Train number 06243/06244 Bengaluru Hospet Bengaluru Intercity Express will be hauled by Electric loco starting from 14th February 2024 and 15th February 2024 respectively.
Train number 16581/16582 Yeshwantpura Shivamogga town Yeshwantpura Express will be hauled by Electric loco starting from 17th February 2024 and 18th February 2024 respectively.
All of the above trains were running with Diesel traction end-to-end. Conversion of Diesel traction to Electrictraction will greatly help South Western Railway (SWR) to save on fuel costs.
Gradually, SWR will attach E-locos on all the trains in its jurisdiction. Indian Railways is working on a mission mode towards becoming a ‘Net Zero Carbon Emitter’ before 2030.
