South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to run Sabarimala special trains from Hubballi to Kottayam from 2nd December to 16th January 2024 for the benefit of Sabarimala pilgrims.
Train number 07305/06 will do seven trips starting from 2nd December to 13th January. And Train number 07307/08 will do eight trips from 5th December to 16th January. Details are as follows.
Train 07305/07306 Hubballi-Kottayam-Hubballi Weekly Special Express (Seven trips): Train No. 07305 SSS Hubballi-Kottayam Sabarimala Weekly Special Express will leave SSS Hubballi at 10:30 AM every Saturday from 02.12.2023 to 13.01.2024 and reach Kottayam at 08:15 AM the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 07306 Kottayam-SSS Hubballi Weekly Special Express will depart from Kottayam at 11:00 AM every Sunday from 03.12.2023 to 14.01.2024 and arrive at SSS Hubballi at 09:50 AM the next day.h
Train 07307/07308 Hubballi-Kottayam-Hubballi Weekly Special Express (Seven trips): Train No. 07307 SSS Hubballi – Kottayam Sabarimala Special Weekly Express will depart from SSS Hubballi at 11:00 AM every Tuesday from 05.12.2023 to 16.01.2024 and arrive Kottayam at 08:15 AM on the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 07308 Kottayam – SSS Hubballi Special Weekly Express will depart from Kottayam at 11:00 AM every Wednesday from 06.12.2023 to 17.01.2024 and arrive SSS Hubballi at 09:50 AM on the next day.
Enroute the train will have stoppages at Haveri, Ranibennur, Davangere, Birur, Arsikere, Tumakuru, Chikkabanavara, Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru, Krishnarajapuram, Whitefield, Bangarapet, Salem, Erode, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva and Ernakulam Town in both directions for both the trains.
Both trains will consist of 1 AC 2-Tier Coach, 1 AC 3-Tier Coach, 10 Second Class Sleeper Coaches, 4 General Second Class Coaches, and 2 Luggage cum Brake Vans/Divyangjan Coaches.
Note: Linen & bedrolls will not be provided on these trains. Passengers are requested to make their own arrangements for comfort and convenience during the journey.
Sabarimala Temple, dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, is one of the most famous temples in Kerala. The temple is situated around 95km from Kottayam Railway Station.
