SWR starts DEMU train in between Hubballi and Guntakal

SWR has replaced conventional coaches of Hubballi Guntakal passenger special to DEMU coaches effective from today (15th December 2021). This is the first DEMU train to run from the SSS Hubballi junction.

The train departs SSS Hubballi junction at 7:45 AM and reaches Guntakal at 2:10 PM. In the return direction, the train departs Guntakal at 2:40 PM and reaches Hubballi at 9:10 PM.

A Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) train requires no separate locomotive, as it contains a driving cabin at both ends. The DEMU train can accelerate/decelerate quickly compared to conventional coaches.

As the DEMU train can ply in both directions, it does not require any cumbersome reversal at terminal stations. The DEMU train is also equipped with more seats compared to conventional coaches
