South Western Railway (SWR) has achieved the highest ever Punctuality i.e. 100 % on 03.04.2021 and 04.04.2021(as on today). On both days, all the trains which are operational in SWR have run on time and none of the trains have lost punctuality.
South Western Railway has already surpassed the Railway Ministry‘s Target of Punctuality which was set at 88%. SWR has achieved the distinction of 4th position among All India Zonal Railways Punctuality positions. South Western Railway has improved the ranking way back from the 16th position out of 17 zones.
This is a significant achievement considering that SWR is operating a total of 188 trains in its jurisdiction. Among 188 trains, 65 of them are Mail/Express trains, 70 are Holiday Special trains and 53 are Passenger Special trains.
This achievement has been possible due to the persistent efforts of the Operating, Engineering, and Signal & Telecom Departments of SWR. Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager of South Western Railway has congratulated the team of Officers & staff responsible for the feat. He has also exhorted them to maintain the punctuality at the top position.
