RITES to construct 3 major Railway lines in Karnataka

RITES, the leading Transport Infrastructure Consultancy and Engineering company has secured the Work Order to construct 3 major Railway lines of SWR limits in Karnataka.

The 3 Railway lines are TumkurDavanagere Railway line via Chitradurga, DharwadBelagavi Railway line via Kittur, and Shivamogga -Shikaripura – Ranebennur Railway line.

The 2 of the Railway Lines are particularly very important for Karnataka, as it provides a shorter connection to Pune/Mumbai and even to Belagavi and Hubballi from Bengaluru.

TumkurDavanagere line and DharwadBelagavi line will drastically reduce the distance and time taken to travel from Bengaluru to Hubballi and Belagavi. Both the routes provide a direct and shorter connection between two cities, which is now served by a circuitous route.

RITES has secured the work order at a cost of ₹4027 Crores. RITES is currently executing doubling projects at Gooty-Dharmavaram and 3rd line project at Anantapur-Pendra road which is near to completion.

Commenting on the order, Mr. V.G. Suresh Kumar, Chairman and Managing director of RITES limited said that “We are happy to have secured the highest ever order from Indian Railways”.
