To facilitate early detection and to expedite the investigation of crimes, the Karnataka Government will open a Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) in Hubballi soon.
The state government has already identified a building on Gokul road near NWKRTC headquarters and the preparations are in full swing to open the center soon.
At present, Karnataka has only one Forensic lab at Bengaluru. The new center at Hubballi is expected to reduce the burden on FSL, Bengaluru.
The main function of Forensic Science Laboratories is to provide an unbiased scientific opinion on material evidences referred to them which in turn helps the judiciary to tackle tricky cases.
