North Western Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) will get 4 numbers of European-style Multi-axle AC Sleeper buses soon. NWKRTC will also procure 20 non-AC sleeper buses.
NWKRTC has invited tenders from eligible parties for supplying 4 fully built BS6 multi-axle AC sleeper buses. The total tender value of the same is ₹7.2 Crores.
NWKRTC has also invited another tender to procure 20 non-AC sleeper buses. The total value of the tender is ₹9 Crores. The tender will close on December 11th, 2023.
NWKRTC MD Bharath Selvan confirmed that NWKRTC will get 20 non-AC sleeper buses and 4 fully built multi-axle AC Sleeper buses matching the Ambaari Utsav buses operated by KSRTC.
Ambaari Utsav, operated by KSRTC are European-style AC sleeper buses built on the Volvo 9600 series. The buses are receiving widespread appreciation from the commuters.
The buses feature Scandinavian design, and windows are designed to provide panoramic views to the passengers. Each bus has a total of 40 Sleeper berths.
The berths have a 1+2 combination with 20 Upper and 20 Lower berths (Total: 40 seats). The bus is equipped with a Volvo D8K engine delivering a torque of 1350 Nm at 1200-1600 RPM.
Each sleeping berth has enough headroom, 2 numbers of USB ports, AC vents, Reading lights, and a mobile holder. The buses are designed to provide excellent ride comfort to the passengers.
The buses also have Knee impact protection technology to enhance driver safety during unforeseen circumstances. The buses are likely to be another feather in the crown of NWKRTC.
