North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) is likely to get 10 brand new Pallakki type luxurious Sleeper buses by the end of December 2023.
Replying to an appreciation tweet of Pallakki buses on Twitter, NWKRTC MD Bharath Selvan said that ‘NWKRTC will be getting 10 Pallakki type buses by the end of December.
Pallakki buses, recently introduced by KSRTC are slightly better non-ac sleeper buses when compared to the non-ac sleeper options provided by the KSRTC/NWKRTC.
The Karnataka government recently launched 40 brand-new Pallakki buses. The sleeper buses launched in 2011 had remained unbranded until recently.
The Pallakki buses with the tagline ‘Happiness is travelling’, have been deployed across various destinations in Karnataka. The buses provide convenient overnight journeys.
The buses have ergonomically designed interiors keeping in mind the comfort of travellers. Each bus has 30 sleeper berths in a 2+1 Upper and Lower berths arrangement.
The buses are built on Ashok Leyland 222 Viking chassis. The buses are 11.3 meters long and are equipped with features like Reading lights and a public address system.
The buses have laptop and mobile charging points, a mobile holder, warm LED reading lights, a shoe rack beneath the lower berth, pillows for passengers etc.
The buses are going to be a popular choice for passengers who are looking for comfortable and affordable rides to travel long distances within and outside Karnataka.
