Nadoja Shree Channaveer Kanavi, a noted Kannada poet from Dharwad passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday morning. He was 93 years old.
The poet was being treated in SDM Hospital at Dharwad from a few days. The poet was infected with Covid-19, but he had completely recovered from it.
Born in 1928, Channaveer Kanavi had completed his School and College education at Dharwad. He has B.A degree from Karnataka College, Dharwad, and M.A degree from Karnataka University.
The poet was conferred with many awards viz Sahitya Akademi award, Rajyotsava Award, Nrupatuna award, Pampa, and the prestigious Nadoja award from Kannada University, Hampi
